Just Like Me, Inc. has embarked on a mission to create one of the first Black animated fairytales entitled Princess Briana to be released in theaters nationwide. This project has already received rave reviews from executives and producers in Hollywood. The script for Princess Briana took 2nd runner-up in the Storyteller Competition at the Hollywood Black Film Festival this year. Currently, Just Like Me, Inc. is in communications with casting directors to find well established Black actors with name recognition to play the two lead roles in the animated film. At the same time the company is in negotiations with an established producer to oversee the direction of the project.
For decades, Black children across the United States have been deprived of seeing positive animated images that look like them in movie theaters. Just Like Me, Inc. is here to create movies with Black super heroes, Black action heroes, Black kings and queens that represent Black culture in a positive light for all children. Over the next two years Just Like Me, Inc. is raising millions of dollars to produce this animated film.
Just Like Me, Inc. will need support from every sector of the Black community (businesses, organizations, churches, parents, etc.) to complete this film. The company is using its flagship product, the Just Like Me Series, and a new line of clothing to continue to raise the necessary capital to complete the film. The Just Like Me Series has been proven to help erase negative stereotypes about Black people in the minds of children. The Just Like Me Series has been featured on CBS News, BET, and Upscale Magazine highlighting the books ability to inspire and motivate Black children.
Just Like Me, Inc. is also making strides in other forms of media by producing a half-hour cartoon series entitled DeAndre & Vanessa and publishing Princess Briana, the book. DeAndre & Vanessa is action-packed series full of exciting adventures and surprise gadgets that would put James Bond to shame. DeAndre & Vanessa's travels through time could unravel the very laws of the universe if they fail to complete their objective. Princess Briana is a fairytale that teaches young girls to love the features that God gave them without feeling inferior because they don't fit someone else's idea of beauty.
